Group activities are times set aside from our normal hours to allow small groups of youth onto the ranch to spend most of the day with us. The types of groups would include youth groups from churches or other youth organizations, Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts.

Depending on what the goal of the group leader is we can create a visit to achieve that goal. For example we have groups that come out for work days or clean up days. Others may want to focus on learning about horses to earn badges from the different boys and girls clubs. We may have groups that want to experience a typical day of horse time, work time and craft time.

While these groups are a lot of fun for us at the ranch they do require additional planning with our volunteer staff so scheduling is very important. The ranch starts to schedule group activities around February and March and the calendar fills rather quickly, so get requests in as soon as possible to ensure a spot. We also like to have at least three weeks’ notice on any group activities.

The days for groups typically start between 9:00 and 10:00 with a lunch at the ranch at 12:00. Then we will continue with the day until 2:00 or 3:00.

While there is no charge for the groups to come out we do accept donations but they are by no means expected.
